This was a really fun brief by 888 Sports, the final look was achieved by mixing footage with lo-fi models of sports stadiums, and then blending them together with loads of tasty textures.
The environments were built in Cinema 4D, brought to life with looping textures of newspapers, crowds, and surfaces. The live-action sports footage was rotoscoped in After Effects, then painted over frame by frame to achieve the rough orange outlines. The final composition blended everything together with halftoning and lots of dirt - to really sell the energy of the sports portrayed.
